JRP @ 6:15am with my husband Jeff. 2nd time ever running on the JRP. We started @ 72nd and went to somewhere in Taylorsville (James M Park?). This run was harder than I thought it was going to be. I know sometimes I complain about the hills around home but I'm always coming down/speeding up the second half of the run because of it. I tried hard to finish strong on this run but it was tough! I'm thinking I'm a little embarrassed that I even mentioned hoping to qualify for Boston in the near future. I'll be happy to get in around 4 hrs @ Ogden which was my goal anyway, but the rules change before St. George I found out so...no Boston anytime soon. Unless someone out there wants to be my coach and whip me into shape before St. George. I feel like I need a food coach and a running coach. Anyone?????:)

My fastest mile was a 9:01. I feel like I should be able to run faster than that at this point but...whatever! Can only do my best!

Favorites parts of this run=

*running with my husband

*seeing Teena Marie running with some tall guy. I almost called her name but thought "what if it's not her!" guess I should have cause I'm like 95 percent sure it was her.

*all the geese but especially the family of geese and the 8 or so fuzzy, baby chicks! so cute. When we came upon them Jeff switched sides to protect me from them cause I'm afraid of being bit (by the scary big ones protecting their little ones right)? I thought that was cute. Thanks honey.

*Awesome weather!!!!

And the all time favorite part of this run...

*A woman pushing her little DOG in a baby stroller. Never seen THAT before. So because I saw this today I have to tell you what I saw last night. I took my two youngest daughters to the playground. There was a woman there who took her DOG ON the playground. She walked the dog up the stairs, through the tube and up to the slide. I stood there with my mouth half open but kept quiet cause my 1 yr old was amazed by this dog. The dog sat right in front of the entrance to the two slides that my kids were trying to go down. She was talking baby talk and giving the dog treats. We were all just staring in disbelief and I was waiting for her to take the dog down the slide but it didn't happen. She walked the dog back the way they came and left. Not sure what that was all about.

I'm so grateful to be able to run at all and will stop complaining about not running faster!

I love all your "favorites" about this run! I think you are doing great! Keep up all the good work and enjoy that running hubby time!

From Teena Marie on Sat, May 07, 2011 at 15:46:15 from 67.2.88.232

Yes, that was me! I wondered if that was you. I am pretty sure we made good eye contact and smiled at each other. I think it was right around Winchester Park. Right? :)

JohnnyV http://vj9857.fastrunningblog.com/ doesn't blog much anymore, but this is who I was with. He's tall, but not super tall (sadly, I am just kind of short). :) :) :)

You should NOT give up on your Boston goal. Some runs are better than others. The new qualifying times will definitely make it harder though ... but a worthy challenge to take! You can do it!!!! :)

You and your hubby should come run with our group sometimes. The last few weeks have been totally hectic and so we haven't had any group runs. However, they will definitely pick up, especially as SGM approaches. If you are interested, just let me know. We have a lot of different runners running different paces (Anywhere from about 7s to 10:30s.)

Stink ... how did I miss the babystroller with the dog??? :)

Ogden is right around the corner. Make sure you get lots of sleep, lots of fluid and lots of good healthy food in your body. :)

I used to take Puddy to the park when he was little to go down the slide bc my kids thought it was hilarious. But he won't do it anymore. But push him in a stroller??? That's a new one. I realize that dogs are some people's babies, but come ON!

Good run stacie

thanks Kim!

teena marie-my husband says it was 2 or 3 miles north of Winchester Park so...I don't think that was me. Next time I'll call your name! Thanks for the invite to the running group. sounds fun, let me know when you run next.

Lys-whoa. I thought even a dog owner would find it unusual that someone would take their dog on the play area meant for PEOPLE but I guess not:)

This was a big dog. not a puppy.

I was gonna say, there is no mistakin' Teena!!!

Nice to hear you had a good run, lots of positives! And I have seen the dog in the stroller thing in Mesquite and i thought it was hilarious. So did my kids!

I will be your trainer! Not that I know a dang thing, but I love to run with people and pretend like I am smart! However, I can not be your food coach. I eat like a horse. Well, I eat like two horses or maybe a pregnant horse!

Boston is never out of anyone's site. Really. Just depends on the amount of time you have to put in to make it happen!!! You could do it.
