Ran with Jeff. Down to Falcon and up falcon way. Turned right and ran over to ? and to 94th and up Eastdell. Jeff beat me up the hill. He's the only one who ever has. Over to Sego Lily, turned on Buttercup and down to library/petunia to 1700 to Falcon and walked home up the short cut path.Totally sore from total body circuit and hill sprints yesterday.

I've been trying to eat better this week cause of the cruise last week. I'd been doing great yesterday. Walked in the door after taking Lizzie to soccer game and Jane had made yummy peanut butter cookies. It's also between 4 and 5 pm, my weakest time of day (want to eat crap) My first instinct is "Do not eat one!" Then I convince myself to "just have one!" and forget that that never happens! Ate way too many. I don't know when I'll realize I'm not one of those people who can "eat whatever they want because I run" and I'm not one who can "eat just one." Ugh.

I'm feeling extra stressed so that's another reason I gave in. Emotional eater. Josie is almost 2 and I hope she and I both survive before she turns 2 and I turn 40. I'm too old for this. When Jeff and got home all three youngest kids were awake to greet us because Josie had climbed out of her crib and woken them up. I've always been able to be completely relaxed putting Josie down for nap and bed and I don't feel that anymore cause she won't stay. I need to clean out her room of all hazards and shut/lock her door I think cause this is too much. Sorry so long.

ugh Stacie, I'm sorry! Toddlers are soo hard! I think you are amazing you took that on again! More power to you. And as far as the cookie goes, enjoy it. You look amazing and your training for a marathon. I'm pretty sure you are entitled to enjoy some cookies from time to time.

From Kelli on Fri, Jul 08, 2011 at 14:42:16 from 71.219.69.64

Terrible twos for sure! But then what are 3's cause i always thought they were worse! Wait, that is not helping!!! You will survive, running keeps you young, right??? MOtherhood is no picnic. ;o)

Nice job on the running! How do you feel like the marathon training is going???

What you up to next Saturday? We have a beautiful "race" planned up and down Provo Canyon. You two lovely ladies should come! It is free and just for fun. Did I already tell you about it?

From Stacie on Fri, Jul 08, 2011 at 18:46:39 from 67.166.127.0

Lysa-not entitled to that cookie when the week before I was eating dessert twice a day ALL week!

Kelli-I feel like it's taken me all this week to recover and get back in marathon training mode, running/eating wise. I've also kind of given up on the Boston qualifying thing for a while. Part of me actually wishes I wasn't running SGM cause it's just too busy with Jeff and I running it together and the callings we have, etc. I will still run it and just enjoy and not worry about pace for this one I think. that's how I feel right now.

I was trying to take my mileage up to the 7-10 miles a day thing (per FRB advice to get faster) but I still want to cross train and I don't have time to do all that and still have a family/SUPER ACTIVE 1yr old!!! I seriously do not remember ANY of my other kids being as active as she is...anyway, thanks for listening:)

oh I forgot about that half marathon! I would love to do that but Lysa needs to come cause I don't really want to go alone:)

From Kelli on Fri, Jul 08, 2011 at 18:53:54 from 71.219.100.205

Goodness, she is only 1???? You have some fun years ahead of you! I had 2 kids that were so hard when they were little (one was my first, it is amazing I had 4 more after her, BUT I did wait 5 years to do it! She scared me out of wanting kids!)

You know what, the best marathons are the ones you run for fun! I agree with you, just call it a nice vacation and you two go run it for the fun of it. Walk when you need to and enjoy the scenery. Make it so you are not even sore later!!!

Life is SO busy, I hear you. The only reason I was able to follow the FRB advice last year was that all of my kids were finally in school!!! Your day will come. There is a time and a season for everything.

From Stacie on Fri, Jul 08, 2011 at 19:00:55 from 67.166.127.0

Well, she'll be 2 August 12th:) I think there's a reason she was my last:) I do love her! She's a cutie pie! How old are your kids?

you're right, there's a time and a season. i'll keep running but enjoy this time with my kids and not wish I could be running 10 miles a day instead:) I know a lady whose kids are all in school and she trained for the St. George Iron Man and finished it with flying colors! I think that's amazing!

From Kelli on Fri, Jul 08, 2011 at 19:23:17 from 71.219.100.205

My kids are: 18, 12, 11, 9 today, and 6. My girls are the 18 and 6 year olds and they were HARD!!!! In fact, they are both still very hard every day and for different reasons. This 18 year old has never been easy, EVER! Neither has the 6 year old, as a matter of fact. But my boys are good. They never fight with each other and are the best of friends 90% of the time.

i think i am joining the wrong conversation here, as i don't have kids and i can't even begin to relate to how much work it is to raise them. but i just want to say that i very much respect and admire all of you for your hard work and dedication to raising your families, as well as finding the time to run. it's no easy task to train for a marathon, but it's especially admirable when you have so many other things going on. yet you all still find a way to balance your lives and do everything so well. i say, have a cookie. :)

From Stacie on Sat, Jul 09, 2011 at 15:58:45 from 67.166.127.0

Wow Kelli an 18 yr old?! so your girls are harder then your boys? I've heard people say that. My sister assumes I have it easy cause I have 5 girls. she has 4 boys and 1 girl and her boys drive her nuts. nobody has it easy right? everybody has their stuff and we all just gotta get through and enjoy life everyday with a smile!:)

Allie you're a sweetheart. Bless you.

From Kelli on Sat, Jul 09, 2011 at 16:03:36 from 71.219.100.205

Allie, I think I will do just that! Allie, can I have 2 cookies since I have a teenager from he!!??? And maybe a shake and a caramel and chocolate covered apple?

Stacie, I had NO IDEA you had all girls. I was looking at your FB pictures last night and I thought, "Crud, all I have been doing is telling her how hard girls are!!!" I am sure YOUR girls will all be saints as teenagers and easy as pie!!!
