Left at 6am and met a friend I haven't run with before. She had a head light for me and she hah her dog. It was warmer out this morning than I expected. Smelled like rain too. Love that.

We ran up Newcastle and met up with another friend I had never met. Ran all the way up Newcastle and past the fence. My first time venturing  past. We ran on the trail up to La Caille. Before taking the right fork to the narrow trail, I saw two glowing eyes up ahead and my heart started racing. Didn't know what it was. It was another dog, off a leash and way ahead of its owner. It started barking and seemed to be attacking Hobbes (my friends dog). She wasn't that worried and just said that dog was trying to prove he was the alpha dog. Whatever. Just put your dog on a leash people!

Anyway, I imagined it being wide open the whole way up but we went to the right and it narrowed and became a small running trail  and I did see the colored leaves at one point when I looked up. I was looking at my feet most the time and trying to be careful  but of course I totally twisted my left foot at one point cause I'm such a clutz (sp?). I want to go back when it's light so I can see where we ran. Went up to Wasatch and left there down to Danish. Down to Creek road to Highland and up Highland to home.

It was fun to do something different. I guess these two run together Mon, Wed and Sat. Deb, my friend with the dog, is running the Ogden marathon and is looking to qualify for Boston someday. Not sure if she trying to qualify during Ogden 2011. I'll ask her. I think her qualifying time is 4:0. Mine is 3:45. Next year it'll be 3:50. Still thinking about it...

Are you registered for Ogden 2011? It's full and reg. is closed already.

From Lysa on Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 18:04:24 from 174.52.25.64

Don't know her. Is she the new girl that lives in my old house? Did clown go with you too?

From Stacie on Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 19:37:02 from 174.52.21.251

JD- Yep, all registered. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it in a comment somewhere a few weeks back when you said you had registered. I thought you didn't care...but maybe you didn't see it. I heard it fills up fast.

Lysa- Not the new girl and no clown did not come with us. New girl and new girls friend did used to run with clown though.

I'm excited for both of you. A little jealous, but excited. And Stacie, I got your email. Thank you. I love the things that remind me of why it is I love to run in the first place. And remember what a great thing it is to just say that I can run. It doesn't matter how fast or slow. It only matters that I love it.

From JD on Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 21:20:09 from 32.176.193.185

I care. I probably read it then immediately forgot...because I care...

From Lysa on Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 21:42:39 from 174.52.25.64

Stacie, don't listen to him. What he's trying to say is that he has done too many drugs.

From Lysa on Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 21:46:28 from 174.52.25.64

Hey, I was thinking. A dangerous past time I know. But I was thinking that the three of us should meet next Saturday morning on the Pipeline trail. What say you two?

From Lysa on Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 21:50:32 from 174.52.25.64

DOH! I just remembered I'm supposed to go cheer on my gimp brother in his first 1/2 next sat. What about the one after that?

From JD on Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 22:04:56 from 32.176.193.185

Just lemme know. Sounds fun.

From Stacie on Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 22:46:30 from 174.52.21.251

Did we talk after you sent this? The half is the 30th right? So let's go this Saturday, that is, if JD cares to run with me.

From JD on Tue, Oct 19, 2010 at 11:24:15 from 70.96.78.157

I'll be in Goblin Valley this Saturday. Maybe the 6th of Nov. then?

From Stacie on Tue, Oct 19, 2010 at 11:45:33 from 174.52.21.251

I was just going to ask when is your big race. I had a friend tell me that he likes the 30k/50k because you don't have to run the whole thing, the scenery is beautiful and they have great food at certain stops.

From Lysa on Tue, Oct 19, 2010 at 12:47:29 from 174.52.25.64

You don't have to run the whole thing on a 5k! But ya, I know what you mean. Lets go on the 6th. Plan on it. Lets go a bit later in the morning so its at least light out, sound good? You two can run together and I will chase you from behind and stare at your butts.

From Stacie on Tue, Oct 19, 2010 at 15:10:20 from 174.52.21.251

K wait. How far is a 50k? 30 miles? Do people even run 30k's? I think my friend was referring to 50k or that Wasatch 100 people do...
