and modify what I need to. like I don't have a pullup bar so I use a resistance band in my door. I don't think I could do a real pullup anyway.:) I also add running cause I'm fat. I use dumbbells instead of bar bell, etc.

Ashley and i decided last minute to do our long run today. tomorrow and sat are just too busy and weather's looking too sketchy. The weather was perfect from 9:30-11:30, no sun, no rain and a cool breeze. We are SO glad we got it done today. Now if I can just make it down the stairs:) WHY after running four marathons is training for these halfs so hard on me??

This was the first race that I almost quit. I made the mistake of eating differently the week before. I ate stupid Kashi cereal the 2 days before and mh stomach was freaking out that morning. I also was having pain between my chest and my shoulder on the right side. It was shooting pain that was moving toward my chest and up to my head. I kept having to walk in the beginning. I begged my sister to please keep running and go catch her friend. I told her if she didn't go I would feel like I have to keep running. She went and I prayed and prayed that I wouldn't have to quit. I turned up my music and started feeling a little better. I spent quite a few miles trying to catch her and running to fast on the steep downhill. I saw her stop at the a water station and I was getting closer. The next water stop she went into a honey pot. I ran up and banged on the door that I really needed to use it now!! She came out a little freaked out (didn't know it was me) and then got a huge smile and hugged me cause I caught up and didn't quit. We finished together. We wanted to walk the last 2 miles but we didn't. I liked the path at the end of the race. My pains never totally went away until I layed down flat on the grass at the end. Ugh! I think that race was too steep. Don't know if I'll do it again. I'm glad I didn't quit.

I did 11 rounds sort of 5 with box jumps till I injured myself. I was finishing my 5 th round and had just started box jumps. I jump onto a sprinkler box and I put a base on it to make it higher. I didn't jump hish enough once and kick the box and came down on my left knee on the bottom left corner of the base! I screamed, cried, prayed that nothing was broken cause our insurance hasn't kicked in yet. huge bruises and scrapes immediately started forming.It started swelling. I layed there for a while till I felt I could get up. I finished 6 more rounds without box jumps and did extra dead lifts and push on one knee. :( I thought I'd be out for sure and maybe not even able to run. The pain at first was the worst Ive ever experience other than labor pains, it was just different then that. It was excruciating and then everything went numb after a while. Anyway, I took ibuprofen and its really ugly so I wore a long maxi skirt to cover it.

My right knee and below is swollen and very bruised but really only hurts when touched at all. So I guess it's just really badly bruised. It hurt a little while running but again just like a bad bruise. SO grateful it wasnt worse and I can still run. I haven't done crossfit in a while so I should have jumped on a shorter box and taken the base off!!!! oh well. Makeshift crossfit at home can be dangerous! Be ware!

A brown lab dog came charging at me barking and I freaked out! I hate dogs! I was praying and was like "no no no" and walked a little. My heart was racing. There was a girl running behind me thanks goodness. She helped me calm down. I was just glad I wasn't alone with the dog. Stupid dogs.

It was a short track so I did sprints/intervals to mix it up. Sprinted once around and jogged slow once around. I had my music. I ran for 40 minutes. My garmin wasn't tracking the miles so I'm guessing on them.

Its just very strong and perfumy. there were a bunch of firefighters about to do some running at flat iron. I tried to look strong and not like I was dying as I ran past them.

In 8 years of running I've experienced a lot on the roads out there but today, for the first time, I was hit by a car. I usually run before the sun but I left later than usual today. So at the end of my run, I was waiting at highland and falcon way (which I haven't run on in months but decided to today) for the light to cross an intersection heading west, and there were two cars waiting to turn left, heading east.  I figured they saw me waiting and there were other runners waiting at 2 other corners. When the light changed I went and failed to make eye contact like I  usually do. I had on my visor and was looking down but she had the sun shining on her windshield. She drove right into me in the middle of the street as I ran through the crosswalk. I slammed both hands onto the hood of her car and jumped back to protect my legs but my knees went up on her bumper and I pushed off with my hands, jumping back and spun around and kind of jumped back to the sidewalk. I was more shook up than anything but my right knee hurt a little. She pulled over and was crying saying she didn't see me. Other cars had stopped and the other runners came over. I just kept saying I was fine. It was a miracle but I was. I was more shaken up than anything. I was able to run home and the first words I heard on my ipod were from the song All This Time by Britt Nicole that my daughter downloaded. "You're the God who sees, The God who rescued me, This is my story...All this time You were there, You were always there. It was You and I. You've been walking (running) with me all this time!" And I started crying and cried the rest of the way home till I saw my husband and starting bawling. He really was with me, or an angel cause it could have been so much worse. Be careful out there! Always assume the drivers don't see you. Always make eye contact!

My kids do not say that to me. They are indifferent to it. I am however going to run that Big Ctwd Revel Half next Sept bc it looks like a blast and its close. That is my for sure plan at this point.

I've been running up to Albion and back home and having syd wake up liz. My favorite part is when I get up to the school and the sun is rising and I see the lining of  the mountains and a little blue sky. I also like on the way up when the stars are bright. Running makes me feel alive!

yep. I feel the same way. My boys tell me all the time my butt is fat and I used to ignore them bc I knew that it wasn't 'THAT' fat..but now they're right. It's a true story and its very sad.
